FI-X collects reporter contact details so it can verify submissions, contact reporters, handle corrections and investigate accounts. Full names, email addresses, telephone numbers, exact private coordinates and private witness details are not published automatically.
Public reports
If you choose publication, the public version may include your display name, general location, incident date, description and approved supporting material. Public reports may be indexed by search engines and copied by third parties. Publication does not mean that FI-X has confirmed the reported event.
Private information
Private submissions and unredacted attachments are stored outside the public web root in the FI-X reporting storage area. Access is limited to authorised FI-X users. FI-X may redact personal information, legally sensitive material and private-property details before publication.
Retention and requests
FI-X retains reports for research, moderation, safety and legal purposes. Reporters may request correction, anonymisation, withdrawal or deletion where legally and operationally appropriate by quoting their public reference number. Withdrawal may not remove copies already held by search engines, web archives or other third parties.
Automated checks
FI-X may use deterministic checks and, where configured, additional automated classification to identify spam, malware, personal information and high-risk material. Automated checks do not establish whether an incident occurred and are not the sole basis for legal or safety decisions.
For urgent danger, crime or medical emergencies, contact the appropriate emergency service. FI-X is not an emergency or law-enforcement service.
