The field mark
Martin McGuinness believed a symmetrical oval mark in a field was connected to a UFO. An Irish UFO group described it as a phenomenon unknown to science, while local farmer Johnny Nevin said it was more likely an ordinary cattle track. The public archive does not provide the original field survey, measurements, soil analysis or chain of custody for the observations.
The photograph story
Michael MacDiarmada said he photographed a strange object while photographing his friend Christy Hannon. Dunsink Observatory director Patrick Wayman examined the circumstances cautiously, while the British UFO Association reportedly declared the story a hoax. The archive does not reproduce a full technical analysis that would settle the matter.
